Tilt Sensors
Kavlico’s Model TS905 Tilt Sensor features a total angular range of -20° to +20°
through -60° to +60°. Specifically designed for applications such as road
construction equipment, agricultural vehicles, cranes and booms, scissor lifts,
truck rollover, container handling, belt operations, and a variety of hydraulic
lift systems, the tilt sensor is a rugged device with a long operating life and
a shelf life that exceeds ten years.
Key to its high performance and low cost is Kavlico’s patented ceramic
capacitive sensing element and integral hybrid circuit for reliable signal
conditioning.
The sensor has a quick response time of .05 to 3 seconds, a broad operating
temperature range of -30°C to +85°C, features a glass filled plastic molded
housing, and is easily installed in hostile environments.
Operating from a 5 Vdc regulated power supply, the sensor provides a 0.5 through
4.5 Vdc output with 0° at 2.5 Vdc. Other features include EMI, RFI, and ESD
protection, low power consumption, over-voltage and reverse polarity protection,
and excellent long-term stability, repeatability, and hysteresis.
In addition to the Tilt sensor, Kavlico designs and manufactures custom sensors
for a wide variety of OEM, application specific requirements utilizing our
ceramic capacitive, silicon micro-machined integrated capacitance and
piezoresistive technologies.

Combined Pressure & Temperature Sensors
For OEM"s requiring measurements in demanding environments, Kavlico"s combined
pressure and temperature sensor is the answer. This 4-wire device operates on a
5 volt regulated power supply and provides a 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc linear signal
proportional to pressure while temperature output is resistive (thermistor).
This combination sensor is available in standard pressure ranges of 0-15 to
0-250 psia/psig whith higher, custom range pressure ranges available for high
volume OEM"s. Packaged in a rugged, cost-effective brass housing with a variety
of electrical connectors (DIN, Packard, flying leads), these sensors offer EMI
protection, overpressure protection up to 5x rated pressure and an industry
leading wide operating pressure span of -40 degrees C to +125 degrees C (please
use degree sign).
Kavlico sensors offer superior long-term stability and excellent hysteresis/repeatability
characteristics. Minimum operating life span is 10 years.

Level Sensors
Kavlico"s fuel tank level sensor for OEM applications has been specifically
designed for on & off-highway vehicles, replacing unreliable mechanical float
mechanisms. The design has NO MOVING PARTS and is available in both top and
bottom mounted versions and can be configured with application specific
insertion lengths.
The sensor operated on a low 5 Vdc power input and provides a .5 to 4.5 Vdc
output proportional to level. It features full-scale accuracy of ±5% that
includes long term stability, repeatability, hysteresis, interchangeability and
temperature. Kavlico"s variable capacitive sensing element and integral ASIC
with hybrid circuit for reliable signal conditioning are key to its high
performance.
The unit has an operating temperature of -40°C through +80°C, built-in reverse
polarity and over-voltage protection. The 1/2-14 NPT or M22-2.5 fittings allow
for easy installation.
Available in brass or stainless steel configurations, the sensor is supplied
with a built-in 3-pin electrical connector that mates to a Packard Metri-Pack
Series 150 sealed connector. Additional fittings and connectors can be
incorporated to meet custom OEM specifications for drop-in replacement.
The sensor"s excellent vibration resistance (10 G"s peak to peak sinusoidal)
make this device the sensor of choice for fuel tank"s used in a wide variety of
off-road, marine, industrial, military, and power generation applications,
providing better accuracy and reliability than conventional level devices.

P6000
Kavlico"s compact (< 3 cm in length) P6000 provides a new, economical, and
durable option for system designers seeking a highly accurate yet small
footprint pressure sensor for dry media medical applications such as
respirators, oxygen concentrators, and CPAP equipment. The sensors can also be
utilized for dry or wet media applications in a variety of industrial
applications as well where sensor size and mounting options are a concern.
Additionally, Kavlico can custom design sensor packaging for those with unique
configuration needs.
Providing a fully calibrated, temperature compensated 0.5V to 4.5V linear analog
output proportional to pressure; the sensor provides increased flexibility when
it comes to the pressure sensor’s physical location and mounting. The device is
offered with (3) mounting configurations: Option 1: Flying leads allow it to be
positioned remote from the PCB. Option 2: The sensor can be connected to the PCB
through a miniature 4-pin connector. Option 3: With lead wires for through hole
PCB mounting.
The P6000 is available in gage or absolute pressure ranges from 2.5 PSI to 100
PSI. Pricing is approximately $15 in volumes of 1000 units.

sCAP1
Kavlico’s barometric absolute pressure (BAP) sensor chip is an integrated Micro-Electo-mechanical
System (MEMS) sensor that utilizes a signal conditioned variable capacitive
silicon sensors technology that has years of field proven service. This low-cost
pressure sensor chip is well suited for a variety medical and automotive
applications due to its miniature size and high reliability.
The sensor die design can be easily configured into the required final package
specifications as the die size is a mere 1.5 x 1.2mm.
The sensor is based upon the Silicon MEMS capacitor, as capacitance varies with
external pressure applied upon it; the capacitance values are electronically
converted into a high DC Voltage output gain of 150 to 200 millivolts by the
on-chip signal conditioning circuit, so integration into the application is
considerably simplified. As opposed to other techniques, the sCAP 1 has
excellent stability, thereby providing extremely repeatable measurements.
The sensor chip itself features a 1.5 to 5.0 Vdc operating range. The highly
reliable design is available in pressure ranges of 0 to 240 KPa (0 to 1800mm Hg)
absolute. The device operates on a low power source, drawing much less than 1 mA
at 1.5 Vdc.
The sensor can withstand an overpressure of 2X the range and has an operating
temperature range of -20° to +40°C.
